A little girl is sitting on her grandpa's lap and studying the wrinkles on his old face. She gets up the nerve to rub her fingers over the wrinkles. Then she touches her own face and looks more puzzled.
Finally the little girl asks, "Grandpa, did God make you?"
"He sure did honey, a long time ago," replies her grandpa.
"Well, did God make me?" asks the little girl.
"Yes, He did, and that wasn't too long ago," answers her grandpa.
"Boy," says the little girl, "He's sure doing a lot better job these days, isn't He?"

Here's a story about a little girl in Iraq. For a change, there may be a happy ending: Little Iraqi Baby Found.
That's too bad about the Lion statue in Basra. It seems like Iraq's old Antiquities either get looted, destroyed, used in building Saddam's public work projects, or were removed to European museums.
I'm glad the Queen is still blogging, despite the difficulties.

That was a happy story for a change. Charles Gibson reported on his program today. It's sad that she and her siblings will live in an orphanage.
Q.A. is very depressed over the statue. It wasn't as fancy as the Statue of Liberty. But, it meant a lot to Basrawis.

It's too bad Iraq doesn't allow outside adoptions. Even jingoistic China allows foreign adoptions. I bet there's a lot of American couples that would love to take in Iraqi children and give them a better life. It's just crazy how the rules are formulated in Iraq.
In New Hampshire, they had the famous Old Man of the Mountain rock formation and it really shook up, saddened the locals, when natural forces sheared off the rock and ruined the formation. So, I can see why the Queen is upset by losing to needless vandalism a key symbol of the city.
It's like everything of value to the Queen has been removed /destroyed in Basra since the war. The poor Queen, her world's been turned upside down.
Ha ha. Good joke. I read your post on Q.A.'s despair over the statue. Will the cycle ever be broken?

The cycle of violence is getting worse by the day. Yezidis has become the victims of the latest attack. Who's next? I don't know.
